The most significant lessons I have learned in life are to be authentic, to live a life that you yourself and those you love are proud of, and to live a life that makes a positive impact on others.
Simple to say. Harder to live.
But the older I get, the more I see how powerful these lessons really are. They are not just “nice ideas”—they are the compass points that help us stay true to ourselves when life tries to pull us in a hundred different directions.
Each of us has a story. Mine has been shaped by blindness, resilience, faith, and the people who walked beside me. Yours has its own unique twists, turns, and pivotal moments.
And here’s the thing—we don’t just live our stories for ourselves. The choices we make ripple outward. They influence the people we love, the communities we belong to, and the lives we touch. When we live with authenticity and courage, we make space for others to do the same.

“She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them.” – Beau Taplin

Failures. Doubts. Challenges. We all face them. But what matters most is how we keep going—how we decide to live with purpose, even when the road feels uncertain.

Your turn: self-reflection and action
• What is your story?
• Who has had the most impact in your life?
• What were the pivotal moments of your life?
• What are the major life lessons you have learned so far?
Take a moment to reflect. Maybe even write down your answers. Your story matters.

Stay tuned for my next post, where I’ll dive deeper into one of the hardest and most important lessons I’ve learned: being myself.
